Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, may peace be upon us all, om swastiastu, namo buddhaya, salam kebajikan.
To the distinguished speakers, participants, colleagues, honored guests, and the entire organizing committee of ASMPID 2025, with deep gratitude, we warmly welcome you to the city of Makassar for the Annual Scientific Meeting on Pediatric Infectious Disease (ASMPID) 2025.
This forum is expected to serve as a scientific platform that brings together knowledge and clinical practice to strengthen the collective response to pediatric infectious diseases in Indonesia.

Welcome Remarks from the Chair of Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) South Sulawesi Branch

We welcome the implementation of ASMPID 2025 in South Sulawesi as a strategic opportunity to strengthen the capacity of pediatric healthcare professionals in this region. This event also represents a meaningful integration between central and regional stakeholders in the advancement of Pediatrics. A range of challenges in managing pediatric infectious diseases in Eastern Indonesia demand scientific approaches that are contextual and adaptive. This forum could be a collaborative space to connect field experiences with scientific evidence. We hope this event promotes the equal distribution of knowledge and enhances the quality of pediatric healthcare services across the nation.

Welcome Remarks from the Chair of Infection Working Group of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (UKK Infeksi IDAI)

ASMPID 2025 is held in response to the growing complexity of pediatric infectious diseases, particularly in Central and Eastern Indonesia. These regions face a high disease burden yet remain underrepresented in national scientific discussions. By choosing Makassar as the Host city, we aim to prioritize equal access to scientific information and strengthen regional networks. This forum is expected to bridge evidence-based practices with the formulation of policies relevant to local contexts. We fully support ASMPID's efforts to produce scientific recommendations that can be implemented in pediatric healthcare services throughout Indonesia.

Welcome Remarks from the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University

As an academic institution, we fully support the organization of ASMPID 2025 as a forum for deep and evidence-based learning. This event serves as an important platform for students and trainees to gain a comprehensive understanding of infectious diseases. ASMPID 2025 presents a wide range of scientific approaches and clinical practices essential for rational and well-informed decision-making. This aligns with the goals of medical education to shape professionals who are critical thinkers and solution-oriented. We believe this forum will strengthen the role of academics in child health development in the future.

About ASMPID

Annual Scientific Meeting on Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases in children remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia and worldwide. The emergence and re-emergence of infectious diseases, alongside neglected conditions, emphasize the ongoing threat to public health. Global dynamics such as climate change, mobility, and antimicrobial resistance complicate management. ASMPID 2025, themed “Emerging and Neglected Pediatric Infectious Diseases: Bridging Knowledge, Practice, and Policy,” aims to enhance professional capacity and collaboration through symposiums, lectures, expert sessions, and workshops. Topics include dengue, malaria, HIV/AIDS, antimicrobial resistance, and more, with a focus on clinical, preventive, and policy aspects. Open to diverse health professionals, ASMPID seeks to strengthen competencies and networks, supporting sustainable improvements in child health in Indonesia.
