Annual Scientific Meeting on Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases in children remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality both in Indonesia and globally. The emergence of new infectious diseases (emerging infectious diseases), the re-emergence of previously controlled infections (re-emerging infectious diseases), and the high prevalence of neglected infectious diseases indicate that infectious diseases continue to be a major public health issue requiring serious attention. Moreover, global dynamics such as climate change, international mobility, environmental shifts, and increasing antimicrobial resistance significantly impacted the epidemiological patterns and management of infectious diseases in the pediatric population.

Amidst these challenges, the rapid advancement of science and health technology demands that pediatric healthcare professionals continually update their knowledge and skills. Staying informed with the latest evidence-based information on diagnosis, therapy, prevention, and health policy is essential to support child health services that are high quality, comprehensive, and responsive to ongoing changes. A multidisciplinary approach integrating science, clinical practice, and health policy has become an important foundation in addressing pediatric infectious disease challenges in this era of globalization and dynamic global shifts.

As an effort to support the strengthening of professional capacity, dissemination of up-to-date knowledge, and reinforcement of cross-sectoral collaboration, the Annual Scientific Meeting on Pediatric Infectious Disease (ASMPID) 2025 is held under the theme “Emerging and Neglected Pediatric Infectious Diseases: Bridging Knowledge, Practice, and Policy.” This Scientific event is designed to facilitate knowledge and experience exchange through diverse sessions, including symposium, general lectures, “Meet the Expert”, “Meet the Professor”, and interactive workshops covering clinical, preventive, and policy-related aspects.

The topics addressed by ASMPID 2025 include a wide range of current and relevant issues, such as dengue, malaria, rabies, HIV/AIDS, mycosis, sepsis, TORCH infections, and other tropical infectious diseases. The event also highlights strategic issues such as antimicrobial resistance, rational antibiotic use, travel medicine, and the application of the One Health approach in infectious disease management.

ASMPID 2025 is open to a broad range of healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, general practitioners, nurses, midwives, medical and health students, and other allied health personnel. Through this event, it is hoped that healthcare professionals’ competencies will be enhanced, professional networks expanded, and a synergy created among science, clinical practice, and health policy in addressing pediatric infectious disease challenges. Support from various stakeholders, including sponsors, is highly anticipated to ensure the success of this event, so that it can contribute to sustainable, widespread, and tangible improvements in child health in Indonesia.
